The injured woman, who is under treatment in a hospital, stated that she had to tolerate his torture despite paying off the rented money with interest.
Her husband borrowed Rs 1,500 from Pramod Singh a few months back and returned the money with interest. However, he repeatedly looked for more money. They rejected the demand, the woman said. The incident happened in a village under the jurisdiction of Khusrupur police station in Patna. Pramod Singh allegedly warned the victim over the phone, saying they would march her naked in the village if she didn't give him more money. She reported to the Police about this on her cell phone. A victim's family member told reporters: "A police team came to the village on Saturday to investigate the complaint, which maddened Pramod and his companions. On Saturday at around 10 p.m., they went to her house and took her to Pramod's house by force. She was allegedly exposed and beaten up with clenched hands and sticks. Pramod ordered his son to urinate in her mouth. And the son did so. After that, she somehow managed to run away and return home, the woman said in a statement to the Police.

Famous agricultural scientist and the artist of India's 'Green Revolution' Mankombu Sambasivan Swaminathan died at 98. The renowned agricultural scientist was assisting in developing high-yielding variations of paddy, which backed India's low-income farmers to produce the crop in great amounts. He died in Chennai. Swaminathan's vision altered India from an 'empty bowl' to a 'breadbasket' nearly overnight, the World Food Foundation said, respecting him as its first World Food Prize celebrated in 1987. In 1971, he won the Ramon Magsaysay Award for being both a 'humanist' and 'first-rate scientist'.

A video went viral of a 12-year-old girl who was raped and walking by the streets of Ujjain in torn clothes, with bloodstains on her body. The girl has been identified as a resident of Satna Madya Pradesh. On Thursday, Police arrested an auto driver named Bharat Soni, who is suspected to be the main charge. The police detained Bharat Soni on Thursday, and during questioning, he acknowledged having committed the crime. However, when Soni was being taken to the crime set, he tried to run away and beat the police with stones, said the police. He was carved and seized, but he fell and injured his leg trying to escape.
Soni has past cases against him, including one registered in 2019 at Ujjain’s Madhav Nagar police station for rash driving and 337 for causing hurt by threatening the life or personal safety of the residents.

A mentally unstable Muslim man was beaten to death in Delhi's Sundar Nagari area for allegedly eating prasad at a temple. A video of the terrible incident, shared widely on Social media, shows the young boy, Muhammed Isar, asking the crowd for help as he sobs in pain. According to the complaint filed by the victim's father, Abdul Wajid, he found his son lying outside their house. Israr told his father that a troop of youngsters blamed him for stealing, tied him to a pole, and beat him with sticks. One of his neighbours brought Israr to his home after the horrific incident. He also told all the details about the assaulters to his father. An investigation into the incident was underway, and the police said they were trying to find the accused through CCTV.
A drunk rail staffer busy on call places a bag on MEMU throttle, causing a collision in UP
CCTV showed that a helper was sent to get the driving trailer coach engine's key and was inebriated and continuously on a video call. He carelessly kept his bag on the engine's throttle and got busy on his mobile again. Due to the extreme pressure of the bag, the throttle went into the onward position and let the MEMU move near the platform. Within a minute of his entering the engine, the train broke the safeguard dead end, and half of the cab crawled on platform number 2. Five staff were included in train operations, and maintenance has been suspended.
