In 2022, Bengal had recorded 67,271 cases, the highest in India for the year.
This year, too, most hospitals in Kolkata are full of dengue patients, and many deaths have been recorded in the city and surrounding places.
The officials were assisted in maintaining the target on vector control and repellent processes. They were asked to control the spread of mosquitoes. Sources also said that officials, in the meeting, noticed all the required alertness in health sectors was aware of.

In south Kolkata, Naktala Udayan Sangha will create its pandal on the ill of ragging and how the hazard can be removed from society. As the country celebrates Chandrayaan-3's success, a Durga puja committee in Kolkata has decided to design its pandal design on lander Vikram, which touched down on the lunar south pole on August 23.
Another Puja committee will theme its pandal on the evils of ragging with the message of zero resilience for such bullying. Pallir Jubak Brinda Club at Sitaram Ghosh Street in north Kolkata has begun to work on a jumbo-size Vikram replica, which will help as its pandal. One puja committee spokesperson said this will be their tribute to ISRO.
Kolkata man files FIR 14 years after marriage after knowing true nationality of his wife
After 14 years of marriage, a Kolkata-based businessman came to know about his wife's nationality, detecting that she is a Bangladeshi national. The businessman has taken legal action against his wife, claiming she used him to attain Indian citizenship.
In 2009, Tabish Ehsan, 37, a native of Bengal's Asansol, married Nazia Ambreen Quraishi. Nazia had introduced herself as a citizen of Uttar Pradesh. Both families accepted their marriage, and all went flatly until 2022.
They met at a marriage ceremony for the first time and got married after their relatives agreed. It was an arranged marriage. Before getting married, she stated that she was born and raised in Uttar Pradesh. There weren't many problems with her citizenship initially".
The twist in their marriage started with the birth of their second child, as Tabish Ehsan claims that his wife suddenly moved to her parental home before giving birth and stopped all connection with him. It was at the time Tabish got to know about his wife's real nationality. Tabish learned from one of his relatives that Nazia is from Bangladesh. Later, a case was filed against Tabish Ehsan by Nazia's family, but the Alipore court in Kolkata gave him bail.
Woman’s brutal murder, body found in West Bengal’s village
In a field in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, villagers found a young woman's body.The body was found in 26th September, tuesday morning ,the body was found partially burned and her throat was brutally cut, hands and legs tied.
The police after investigation found out that the woman was originally from Bangladesh and was working in a beauty salon in Mumbai.
Later the police arrested a person named Nasher Mills, who is from India, for his involvement in the crime. According to officials, Nasher Mills has admitted to committing the crime.
West Bengal Police Seize Rs 1 Crore Worth of Morphine in Murshidabad District
In a major operation on 27th September, the Special Task Force of West Bengal Police has successfully arrested three individuals in Murshidabad district, near the Nowdapara Railgate area for drug trafficking. Acting on a crucial tip-off, the police made the arrests, including a woman, and uncovered a significant contraband of morphine.
The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Abdul Hamid, aged 35, Sohal Rana Sk, and Gayetri Halder, a 69-year-old woman. During a thorough search, the police seized a substantial quantity of illicit morphine, totaling 1.01 kilograms. This haul carries an estimated market value of approximately Rs 1 crore.

It underscores the importance of community collaboration in providing crucial information to enable such operations.
