Pakistan's minority Christian Community reels from violent attacks
In Northern Punjab, Muslim mobs attacked churches and homes belonging to Minority Christians over a Christian man's alleged desecration of the Quran. Authorities expanded paramilitary troops to improve orders in Jaranwala City in the Faisalabad district. Pakistani police have arrested dozens of people from the Northern Punjab. There were no causalities as Christians living in the area moved to a much safer place with their families. Christians returned to their homes, only to see the devastation of at least one burned church. Four other churches were also destroyed. More than fourteen houses were torched and badly damaged during the riots. Muslims in East Pakistan went on a storm over the accusations that a Christian man had defiled the Quran.

An Ahmedabad-based businessman has
boarded an extraordinary journey in an admired UK-made vintage car to celebrate
India's 76th Independence Day and a personal family achievement. Daman Thakore,
50, is backed by his 75-year-old father, 21-year-old daughter and few close
friends and family as they cover around 12,000 kilometres across sixteen
countries to take a 1950 M.G. YT to their birthplace of the M.G. factory in Abingdon
in south-east England. Thakore, a Managing Partner at Amin Equipment,
specializes in ample construction supplies. He says the road trip is a genuine
devotion to his parents, who schooled his love for adventure through broad car
journeys during the Diwali holidays.

The recent nostalgic ride began from Gujarat after a stopover in Mumbai for its official flagging off; it is ready to reach Dubai. The route will surround Turkey, Switzerland, Iran, Azerbaijan, Germany, and many other countries, before reaching its final target in England.
6.3 magnitude earthquake creates restlessness in the Colombian capital; one found dead
On Thursday, a strong earthquake of 6.3 magnitude hit the Colombian capital Bogota. According to the United States Geological Survey, it left the residents in restlessness, they ran away on the streets, and one woman died during this tragic earthquake. There were no instant reports of significant loss from the quake, which Colombia's national geological service reported as a magnitude 6.1. Mayor Claudia Lopez said the dead woman fell out of a window during the earthquake. Several aftershocks followed the initial quake. The initial quake was chased by aftershocks minutes later as the citizens crowded the streets. Colombia's national geological service predicted the second quake at a magnitude of 5.6, with the following aftershock moderated at 4.8.
For Chinese single women owning a home is a new shape of resistance
China's housing market is in turmoil. The percentage of women is increasing; they are facing a less equal society and are buying their own houses in search of safety and protection. China Youth Daily, a state-run newspaper, recently surveyed and found that approximately 94 per cent of respondents agreed with single women buying property, with two-thirds stating it is a sign of desire for gender equality.
The increase in female buyers is in a clash with intense turmoil in China's housing sector. Like many other countries, women in China have been historically abused. For many years, Chinese women existed under the patriarchal social order. One of the anthropology professors at Duke Kunshan University said it is awakening towards women's rights. Now, Women in China can live and buy their own house legally.
Jasprit Bumrah is back in the
