A workshop on Data Dialogue was organized by DataLeads and Google News Initiative throughout India. A similar workshop took place in the Kolkata Press Club, Kolkata, on March 4, 2023. The purpose of the workshop was to promote Data Journalism and equip journalists with the skills they need to collect, verify, and visualize data.

Total of 80 journalists, data analysts, data enthusiasts, and students from various media organizations and institutes attended the workshop. During the workshop, participants enjoyed hands-on sessions and saw practical examples of how data can be used to enhance journalist.
The workshop started with a brief introduction by Parul Gowsami, followed by a presentation by Dr Umashankar Pandey on what data journalism is and its prospects. A second speaker, Mrs Gazala Yasmin, spoke about data-related topics and finally, the session began with Anoushka Dalmia.

The workshop focused primarily on data visualization. Various tools, including Tabula and Pinpoint, were used by the speaker to demonstrate how data can be visualized. Their presentation illustrated how visualizations can be used to convey complex information in a simple and easy-to-understand manner.
Organizers of the Data Dialogue workshops provided journalists and data enthusiasts with valuable resources. The workshop provided participants with the opportunity to learn about the latest tools and techniques for data journalism as well as network with other professionals in the field. Journalists were offered excellent opportunities to improve their skills and gain a better understanding of data journalism with the help of this workshop.
