Approval of Dussehra Rally at Shivaji Park
 

On Friday, September 23, the Bombay High Court allowed Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray to hold the Dussehra rally on October 5 at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, thus rejecting the municipal council’s order.

It was observed by the high court that Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been misusing its powers regarding the application of petitioners. 

The court ordered to keep a video recording of the entire function and ensure that the petitioners maintain law and order.

The uddhav-led Sena had urged the court to grant permission for the annual Dussehra rally at Shivaji park.

 

Nationwide Crackdown On Child Pornography


The central bureau of investigation clamped down on the distribution and sales of child porn after carrying out 56 raids across 19 states and a union territory on Saturday, September 24.


The raids were a part of Operation ‘Megha Chakra’ which is related to the two chilling cases of circulation of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) over the internet. More than 200 CBI officials formed the team for this operation to crack down the entire network. 


This ongoing operation was formerly called ‘Operation Carbon’ which was in connection with the same crime in November 2021. 


Interpol’s Singapore-based Crime Against child unit also provided inputs that formed the basis of Saturday’s nationwide raids.

The Enforcement Directorate informed a special PMLA court in Lucknow that Rs. 120 crores was deposited over the years in PFI (Popular Front of India) accounts and related entities, hours after it arrested Muhammed Shafeeque Payeth, a leader of PFI.


Reports accused these organizations of collecting funds for unlawful activities. In its remand application, ED told the court that Paveth had also planned to lead the formation of a terrorist gang with the intent to cause disturbance during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Patna.


“Payeth was arrested at 5.35 am on September 22 from his flat in Kozhikode. These cases of the predicate agencies pertain to unlawful activities carried out by PFI and its  related individuals/organizations to indulge in criminal conspiracy with an intent to disturb communal harmony, spread terror, incite communal riots, impart training to their cadre to use explosives, and weapons, form a terrorist gang and collect deadly weapons and explosive devices to simultaneously launch attacks on many important persons and sensitive locations,” the IO stated

 

Two Migrants Labour Shot In Pulwama

Two migrant laborers from Srinagar were shot at by terrorists in the Kharbhatpora locality of Ratnipora in the Pulwama district of Kashmir on Saturday evening, September 24.


According to sources, the laborers have been identified as Shamshad Ahmad and Faizan Qadri, both residents of Bihar. After the firing receded, the due were shifted to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Their condition is currently stable.


Kashmir ADGP Vijay Kumar confirmed the attack and announced that the area has been restricted to catch the attackers.


Similar cases have also been heard in June and July, where migrant laborers have been the target of terrorist attacks.

 

19-Year-Old Receptionist Murdered In Rishikesh



The body of a 19-year-old receptionist, Ankita Bhandari was recovered from the Chilla Barrage in Rishikesh on Saturday, September 24. She used to work at a resort owned by Pulkit Arya, the son of former BJP minister Vinod Arya.

Agitated locals vandalized and burned the remains of the resort which had been demolished by the state government on Friday. Uttarakhand BJP had expelled Vinod and his other son Ankit from the party.

Pulkit and his associates had allegedly demanded Ankita to indulge in prostitution at the property which, they later refused. 

According to sources, the refusal to comply with their demands likely resulted in her getting killed by the accused.

 

Pulkit and two of his associates were arrested and sent to judicial custody on Friday, but the angry residents beat them up while the police could only watch helplessly.

 

Ankita Bhandari’s autopsy report revealed death due to drowning and blunt force trauma on the body.
