The worldwide K-pop sensation, BTS announces a break from group activities to focus on themselves and grow as individual artists in the 2022 BTS FESTA dinner on 14th June 2022.

The video bootstrapped while reminiscing fun memories from their time of living together. Stories were shared like Jimin getting tipsy and continuously disturbing J-Hope’s sleep, Jungkook shaving off his mattress for being too big for the bed, or JK using a vacuum cleaner to get rid of the mosquitoes at 2 AM were retold.
The video took a sharp turn as Suga opens up the reason for not releasing new content and their further plans for taking an interim while emphasizing the fact that they are not disbanding. He further added that it’s important to mention the direction they are going to take.
RM backed up Yoongi by stating that, if speaking about direction, he doesn’t know what kind of group they were. He further explains that expressing a story to the world is what he keeps in his mind while composing a song but since “ON” he is not sure of what else to tell. He goes into more detail on how he as an individual has a lot of opinions but the entire group cannot be represented as per his conjectures. He confesses how all the members feel “exhausted” because of the K-pop idol system, where they have no time to notice their changes or reflect.
“You have to keep producing music and keep doing something…I’ve changed as a human over the past 10 years, so I needed to think and have some alone time. Right now, when we’re at our best I feel like I should be contributing to the world, but I don’t know what that is,” said Namjoon.
Jimin contributed by saying, “I promise we will return someday, more mature than now. Till then we ask for your blessing.”
The news was taken in a positive light. Soon after the video dropped ARMY flooded Instagram and Twitter with positive messages. One fan tweeted “BTS taking a break to focus on them is something I’m never going to complain about….it could be a thousand years and I’ll still be waiting with open arms.”
