Restrictions for media during Winter Session 

During the winter session in parliament, dozens of journalists face issues as the government limits the number of reporters covering the session, through a lottery system only 60 journalists are allowed inside Lok Sabha and 32 in Rajya Sabha. On Tuesday PCI said: “In the largest democracy of the world, the entry of journalists in the parliament is regulated through a lottery system…This is a very dangerous trend in a parliamentary democracy like India”. Opposition leaders were also seen protesting with speaker Om Birla against the curbs. 

Mathura under Section 144

In Mathura, Hindu Mahasabha threatened to install Lord Krishna Idol in Shahi Idgha after "maha jalabhishek" to "purify" the place on December 6 after which Mathura district administration has imposed prohibitory orders under CrPC SEC 144. The 17th-century Mosque came under threat when another right-winged organization Narayani Sena, has said they will take out a march from Vishram Ghat to Sri Krishna Janmasthan, demanding the “removal” of the mosque. The city is under sec144 and tight security is stepped up already. 

Threat to railway for saffron outfits

Saffron colour outfits of Ramayan Express serving staff is an insult to the Hindu religion according to some Hindu seers from Ujjain, seers give the threat to block the train by December 12 if it is not going to change. Later uniforms had been changed to the usual shirts, trousers, and headgear. IRCTC came up with the statement, “It is to inform that the dress of service staff is completely changed in the look of professional attire of service staff. Inconvenience caused is regretted.” 

5 cases of omicron in Karnataka 

Starting from African countries the new variant of coronavirus “Omicron” was detected in Karnataka on Thursday afternoon, one of the patients is a 46-year-old fully vaccinated doctor from Bengaluru, who developed symptoms of fever and body ache on November 21, he tested positive and later admitted to hospital, another patient was 66 year old South African national who came to India with a negative Covid report after the extensive tracing government said about the several direct contact and secondary contact. All the patients are isolated and their samples are sent to labs. 

Christian targeted by Bajrang Dal members 

In Belur city of Bangalore few members of Bajrang dal allegedly entered into Christian prayer hall, accused the group of proselytism and jostled with the faithful until the women in the congregation forced them to leave, around 30 Bajrang dal activists stormed in. Pastor Suresh Paul said: “it was evident they had come to create trouble: they refused to even listen to us, our 

believers then confronted them, forcing them to move out of the prayer hall. I don’t know what would have happened if our believers, especially the women, didn’t stand up to them. 

Army ambush in Nagaland goes wrong, 15 civilians dead 

According to The Hindu, at least 15 civilians and one soldier were killed in a botched ambush and retaliatory violence in Nagaland’s Mon district, prompting the State government and the Army to order a probe into the incident. On Saturday evening, a special unit of the Army mistakenly opened fire at a pick-up van carrying coal miners from the Tiru area to their village Oting about 15 km away, killing six on board. The incident happened at about 5 p.m. Seven more civilians and a soldier died when villagers, alarmed by the gunshots and the death of their brethren, clashed with the troops about an hour later. Several civilians and soldiers were injured in the confrontation. Two villagers have been missing since the incident. Following the incident, protests erupted across Nagaland on Sunday with a mob of about 500 men attacking and vandalising a camp of the paramilitary Assam Rifles in district headquarters Mon. At least two persons were killed during the attack, a police official said.
