BJP wins 217 of 222 seats in Tripura Municipal Election, 2021
Tripura's ruling BJP shattered Mamata Banerjee's TMC and left on Sunday, November 28 with a surprisingly easy win with 217 seats. Out of the 334 total seats – including Agartala Municipal Corporation with 51 wards, 13 Municipal councils and 6 Nagar panchayats. The BJP has won 329, having been elected unopposed in 112seates earlier. The CPIM has won 3 seats, The Trinamool and TIPRA Motha win one seat each. Tripura polling took place on November 25 for 222 seats. In AMC, BJP wins in all 51 wards. According to the Election Commission of India, more than 81% of voters registered in the Tripura civic polls. The election was fought mainly between the 3 political parties – the BJP, the CPIM and the TMC.
The polls were held amid heavy security. Though, there have been reports of a series of violent incidents in Tripura as the TMC is trying to gain a foothold in the state ahead of the 2023 assemble elections.
Narendra Modi tweeted that, the people of Tripura have given a clear message and thanked people for their unequivocal support for BJP in Tripura.
Stand-up comedian Faruqui’s Bangalore show cancelled
The Bangalore police nullified Munawar Faruqui's stand-up comedy show on Sunday in the city because some Hindu right-wing outfits alleged that he hurt the Hindu sentiment in one of his shows. Sriram Sena, Hindu Janajagruti and other Hindu organizations, had lodged a complaint against the comedian charging him of hurting the religious sentiment of Hindus by allegedly insulting Hindu Gods.
Faruqui shared a post on social media started that the Bangalore show had sold 600+ tickets and the proceeds from the show were supposed to be donated to Late Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar's charitable organization.
Faruqui said, "My name is Munawar Faruqui. And that's been my time, you guys were a wonderful audience. Goodbye, I'm done." He also does not want to reveal that the show was for charity. Munawar also claimed that this show has a "censor certificate of the show" which proves there was "nothing problematic" in the comedy show.
Even earlier this year, Faruqui was arrested in a case for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. On February 7 Supreme Court granted him bail in this case.

According to the National Family Health Survey- 5(NFHS-5), a nationwide survey by the ministry of health for the period between 2019 and 2021, for every 1,000 males, India has now 1,020 females. India's decades-long effort to improve the sex ratio is finally successful.
Parents in India have historically favoured sons over daughters, because of the burdensome and costly tradition of wedding dowries. Improvements in the sex ratio aside, India's female population still has a long way to go. Parental sex determination banned in India in 1996 and this helped gradually to increased female growth in India. Media reporters said it as a "massive achievement" and "a demographic shift".
India banned cryptocurrency
India is going to ban most cryptocurrencies in the country under a long-awaited bill. After the announcement on the bill's future cryptocurrency prices dropped on Indian exchanges.
The government will allow only cryptocurrencies to promote the underlying technologies and their usage. India is also looking to make a framework for the official digital currency that will be issued by the Reserve Bank of India.
COVID update: Strict rules for International arrivals
For International arrivals in India, Union Health ministry produced revised guidelines. This is effective from December 1. Guidelines are – mandates submitting 14 days travel details, upload negative RT-PCR test report on Air Suvida portal before journey. If tested negative they will follow, home quarantine for 7 days. Re-test on 8th day and if negative further self-monitoring for next 7 days. As per the guidelines, travelers from the 'countries at-risk "will need to take COVID test post arrival and wait for results at the airport.
