Students celebrate reunion after 20months of virtual classes

After March 2020 when the pandemic hit the country, education went into virtual mode. But as soon the government announced to reopen the school, following all the Covid related protocols, students rush to their physical classes. Even parents were seen on roads taking their children to school before their working hours. Most of the students right now not taking public transportation facility in order to avoid any risk. During conversations with parents some said they still have apprehensions to send their kids to school.  


Art and Cultural Heritage Fest in City

On the occasion of World Heritage Week, the city is all set to serve a 10-day fest starting on November 19. This allows the viewers to experience Kolkata in a refreshingly new light and discover stories in both familiar and unfamiliar spaces. Indian Museum walkthrough and workshop will allow tracing the evolution of visual language from Mughal miniature.


Sumona Chakravarty Deputy Director of Ghare Baire Dag Museum says,

“The connection between art and our shared history is often lost when we view it in isolation inside a museum. That is why we are curating this unique experience across the city”. 

Hunger Strike in SSKM Hospital Kolkata 



A protest against the government over the transfer order of 35 nurses, 7 of them fall ill, the protest began in July with the demand of addressing alleged inequality in pay. Secretary of Nurse Unity Bhaswati Mukherjee fell sick, according to the order nurses have been asked to immediately report to the newly assigned place of their posting also. The nursing unit leader requested to health authorities to look into the matter as the situation is worrying, one has already been admitted. 


More Pumping Station to Get Rid of Water Scarcity

Some areas of Kolkata South 24 Parganas suffering through water scarcity, keeping this major issue in mind an 11lakh litre capacity semi-underground reservoir and a booster pumping station is going to inaugurate this Sunday near Tollygunge.


This pumping station is going to be beneficial for residents of Ward No. 97, covering the area of Ashok Nagar, Kudghat and Regent Park. Earlier these areas were dependent on underground water drawn up through pumps. 


This is the Farmers’ Victory: CM 

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcement to repeal the farmers' law Mamata Banerjee and her party celebrate victory late Friday morning. Later through her social media account, CM congratulated every farmer for their constant effort and also show condolence to all those farmers who lost their lives during the protest.

CM Mamata Banerjee earlier also sent multiple people delegation to meet the protestor on the ground and had spoken to many of them on phone. At the beginning of the year, CM also demands the resignation of Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah as they were failed to give in to the demands of agitating farmers.
