TUDUM (India): Netflix shows and films uncovered



Recently, Netflix hosted one of the biggest fan events TUDUM (India). The event is named after its original soundtrack played at the onset of every original Netflix production, which has won million hearts worldwide.  Hosted by Ali Fazal and Radhika Apte, the ‘India Spotlight’ event, a 30-minute commencement unveiled an afresh batch of shows lined up to be released soon.

Spectators experienced glimpses for the very first time of the productions showcased that feature some of the brightest and gifted artists from India. The list of such mentionable are:

'Dhamaka' starring Kartik Aaryan


Kartik Aaryan starrer ‘Dhamaka', is the official remake of the Korean film ‘The Terror Live', where former anchor Arjun Pathak's (Aaryan) life changes when he gets a call with a bomb threat from terrorists while he was given another chance to go on live prime time television.


‘Plan A Plan B' starring Riteish Deshmukh and Tamannah Bhatiya


Written by Rajat Arora and directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the production team unveiled a sketch at the event. Described as an unusual and fluky love story, Bhatia plays a matchmaker and Deshmukh plays a successful divorce lawyer.


‘Aranyak' starring Raveena Tandon and Parambrata Chatterjee


Written by Charudutt Acharya and Directed by Vinay Waikul, the team of the production presented us with a teaser at the event. Having the star cast of Ashutosh Rana, Zaakir Hussain, Megna Malik. It is described as a local town cop joining forces with her replacement from the city on a high-profile case when a foreign teenage tourist disappears in the small Himalayan town and resuscitate skeletons which bring back the forgotten Himalayan folklore of gore and bloodthirsty supernatural entity in the Himalayan forests.


'Finding Anamika' starring Madhuri Dixit Nene


Production of Dharmatic, starring Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Lakshvi Saran, Suhasini, besides the lead, is a suspense thriller family drama about an iconic global superstar vanishing suddenly and the search for her unveiling the lies and facades in the life of a famous actress.


‘Heeramandi', a featurette by Sanjay Leela Bhansali


Described as a feature at exploring the boundaries of life-sustaining a courtesan, it is about love, power, betrayal in the “kothas” of the Lahore district. Bhansali is seen talking about his cinematic approach and inspiration of filmmaking while announcing this series based on India and its hidden culture shocks before.


‘Khufiya' starring Tabu


The first look of the production was unveiled at the event, it’s a Vishal Bhardwaj movie, inspired and based on true events; It also stars Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi as the lead and is about an R&AW operative assigned on a mission to track a mole selling India’s defence secrets.

 

‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar' starring Sanya Malhotra


Another one from the digital production, Dharmatic Entertainment, is about the commencement of an arranged marriage of a young couple who deals with turbulences and insecurities of a newlywed couple since they have to undergo a long-distance relationship due to an exclusive job opportunity that showed itself just after they got married for the male lead.


‘Minnal Murali', a featurette by Tovino Thomas and director Basil Joseph



It is a world of Malayalam superhero movies in the form of a featurette set in the backdrops of a small town in the 90s where a tailor after getting hit by a bolt of lightning wakes up with superpowers the next day.

From genres ranging from thriller to comedy and romance to suspense, the binge-watchers and all that someone awaiting a good series or a show to spend some time for a big treat.
