The Nipah Virus has put Kerala on high alert as the number of cases in the state's Kozhikode district increased to 11 from two the day before.
Kerala's Health Minister, Veena George, stated that the State Health Department identified and isolated 250 people who had come into touch with the 12-year-old boy who died as a result of Nipah Virus infection.
According to the Health Minister, 11 out of 38 patients have showed symptoms and have been placed in isolation at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. She also stated that the samples from the eight primary contacts were negative, which was a relief.

According to statistics supplied by the city's health department, there were no Covid-19-related deaths in Delhi on Saturday, but 35 new cases were registered with a positive rate of 0.05 percent. According to official data, only one coronavirus fatality was reported this month, on September 7. On Saturday, 35 instances were registered, with a 0.05 percent positive rate. According to the most recent health bulletin, no new fatalities have been recorded.

A week-long dispute in Haryana between farmers and the BJP government was finally ended today, when protestors called off their protest over IAS official Ayush Sinha's notorious "crack their (farmers') skulls" comment last month.
Both parties consented to a month-long investigation by a former judge into the IAS official, during which he will be on leave.
To suppress the farmers' protest, mass gatherings were prohibited and mobile internet connections were blocked in Karnal during the previous week. Demands for Mr Sinha's dismissal were made when he was captured on tape making the statements that generated widespread outrage.
4. Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani resigns; Bhupendra Patel to be appointed as the new CM

Gujarat's next chief minister will be Bhupendra Patel, a Ghatlodia MLA, following Vijay Rupani's resignation from the top position a year before the state goes to elections, the party declared during its legislature party meeting. Bhupendra Patel was formerly the head of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA).
Rupani turned 65 this month, and according to sources, the party was not optimistic about confronting the 2019 Gujarat elections under his leadership. Rupani cited “Nayi Urja and Naya Utsaah” as the rationale for appointing a new Chief Minister in his resignation address.

The BCCI confirmed on Wednesday that Virat Kohli will lead India's star-studded 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup, which begins on October 17 in the UAE and Oman. The most significant takeaway is the return of veteran off-spinner R Ashwin to the limited-overs squad after a four-year absence. In another major development, the BCCI announced through Twitter that former India captain MS Dhoni will be mentoring Kohli's team during the ICC tournament. This would be Dhoni's first senior team appearance since retiring from international cricket last year. Dhoni last played for India in the 2019 World Cup semi-finals.
