Australia, USA and UK signed a new pact this week which is deemed by many as a security against China. The AUKUS pact will arm Australia with nuclear submarines as USA will provide the Island continent with the required technology. This pact puts a check on Chinese supremacy in Asia-Pacific region.

The Ministry of Women Affairs Office in Afghanistan was replaced by Taliban’s Moral Police as the women employees of the ministry were asked to stay back home. The sign in front of the building was covered off with an Arabic board of “Ministries of Prayer and Guidance and the Promotion of Virtue and prevention of vice.” Despite Taliban’s various women friendly promises, non are being kept in practice.

France recalled her ambassadors to USA and Australia following the AUKUS pact between USA, UK and US. The French Foreign Minister had remarked the pact as a “stab in the back” for France as she was kept out of the nuclear deal by the three allies. Moreover, France’s submarine deal with Australia got cancelled prior to the pact signing it as a consequence of the later. AUKUS is a three-way strategic defence alliance between USA, UK and US to build a class of nuclear-propelled submarines and also work together in the Indo-Pacific region to deter Chinese threat.

The Korean nations went on an arms parade to showcase their strengths to each other by firing ballistic missiles as tests. All talk between the two nations to relax the growing tensions and the arms race have failed. South Korea tested its new Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) making her the first nation to have such military tech without any nuclear armaments.

Globally donors from different nations have gathered to donate $1.1 billion to the suffering population of Afghanistan who are facing hunger and poverty since the Taliban takeover. The World Food Programme stated that the food and amenities would dry up in the nation by the end of this month leaving millions to starve.
