387 ‘Moplah martyrs' to be erased from Dictionary of Martyrs of India's Freedom Struggle
Moplah (Malabar) Rebellion leaders Variyamkunnath Haji and Ali Musailiar including, 387 others, will be erased from the Dictionary of Martyrs of India’s Freedom Struggle. It had published by the Ministry of Culture and the Indian Council of Historical Research, which comes under the Ministry of Education. The decision came after a review that stated that the Malabar Rebellion was not an independence struggle but focused on religious conversion.
Chakma organizations condemn deportation of Chakma-Hajong communities from Arunachal Pradesh
Chakma organizations have condemned the proposed deportations of 60,000 people belonging to the Chakma and Hajong communities from Arunachal Pradesh. The Chakmas and Hajongs are ethnic people who lived in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, located in Bangladesh. Chakmas are Predominantly Buddhists, while Hajongs are Hindus.

Centre hikes sugarcane Fair Remunerative Price to highest ever
The minimum price that sugar mills must pay to sugarcane growers, also known as FRP, hiked to Rs 290 a quintal for 2012-22 for a basic recovery rate of 10%. Following the hike, the government stated that it does not plan to increase the minimum support price of Sugar correspondingly, which is Rs 31 per kg, presently.
Five Held in Mysuru gang rape case
Five persons have been held in connection with the Mysuru gang rape case in which a postgraduate student was molested and sexually assaulted and her male friend assaulted near Chamundi foothills on the outskirts of Mysuru on Tuesday. The arrest comes within five days of the crime. And a trap has been laid to nab another person involved in the crime. One of the five in police custody is suspected to be a juvenile.
