Soumitra Chatterjee, one of the most cerebral actors of Bengali film industry. Last year, we lost this legend to Covid at the age of 85. His demise mark the end of an era. In 1959, he debuted with Satyajit Ray's Apu Trilogy, 'Apur Sansar' as the adult Apu, Apurba Kumar Roy. The rest is history. In next 61 years, he had mesmerised us with his illustrious filmography. Apart from films, he was also a poet, an editor, a stage actor and an eminent 'The Voice' of modern Bengali literature. His legacy will live on with us forever...Our tribute |
