Hike in the price of petrol and diesel



Petrol and diesel price has been increased by 35 paise and 18 paise per liter respectively. Kolkata becomes the new state capital to touch the Rs. 100 per liter mark of petrol cost. Hike in the prices of fuel has been a matter of concern since, the economic situation of the country is not well because of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic, inflation in the country will only lead to disastrous consequences.


A sweet gesture or a political propaganda



Politics is an ambiguous field to be in and politicians are bittersweet. Since the mango season is here. Bengal's CM Mamata Banerjee sends PM Narendra Modi West Bengal's homegrown mangoes varieties. The list includes home minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Is it a sweet gesture or her political strategy to soften the bitterness between the state and the center?

Post-poll violence was seen in West Bengal right after the Assembly Election was over and TMC was announced as the Ruling Party for the third time in a row. TMC candidates went outrageous and burnt the houses of BJP candidates, as this is the tradition of Bengal after the win. The Calcutta HC on Friday ordered the police to register all the cases of the victims that have been reported after the election in the state got over. HC ordered TMC to provide ration and medical treatment to the victims even if they don't have ration cards. The court has also directed WB's chief secretary HK Dwivedi to preserve all documents related to post-poll violence.

Chingrighata road was shut for 7 hours straight

Chingrighata Road was shut from Saturday 10 PM to 5 am on Sunday. The road was shut because of the Kolkata Metropolitan Authority in putting up the steel structure of an under-construction foot over bridge. All the north-bounded vehicles heading towards salt-lake and airport will have to avail Biswa Bangla Sarani. The south-bound vehicles will be diverted from Beliaghata crossing to take Beliaghata Main Road.


West Bengal student Credit Card Scheme

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee launched ' West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme' on 30th of June, 2021 under this scheme any student who has been living in Bengal for over 10 years can avail of this scheme and can take a loan of 10 lakh rupees at a very low rate of interest. This is applicable for class 10, undergraduates, post-graduates, doctoral, post-doctoral students. The motive behind the scheme is to provide funding for underprivileged students who has the will and potential to become something in life but cannot do it because of poor financial situations. This scheme was discussed in a private state cabinet meeting ensuring betterment for underprivileged students.
