Global Times reported a Beijing based 53-yr-old male veterinarian died with Monkey B Virus (BV), the first ever human case. GT further cited from the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention Report that the veterinary surgeon had dissected two dead monkeys in March and died with complications on May 27.

Twenty-time Grand Slam champion, Roger Federer withdraws from Tokyo Olympics, due to a knee injury he sustained during the grass-court season. He expressed his gratitude towards representing Switzerland and said, "I'm greatly disappointed as it has been an honor and highlight of my career each time I've represented Switzerland." The tennis star further said about his plans to return to ATP Tour, later in the year, after his recovery.

UEFA 2020 Team of the Tournament has been revealed, featuring five players from winners in Italy. Italy's Gianluigi Donarumma as the Goal-keeper, Forward Raheem Sterling, defenders Harry Maguire and Kyle Walker are the three British players on the team. Spanish forward Pedri, who was named Young Player of the Tournament, has also been included. 

South Korean singer Taeil reaches 1 Million Instagram followers in 1 hour and 45 minutes, which sets the record. 

South Korean boyband NCT member, Taeil Moon breaks the record and becomes the person with the fastest time to reach 1 million Instagram followers within the period of 1hr and 45 minutes. After his first post, he was in the limelight and was trending all over the social media platforms. According, to the Guinness World Records, he broke the record of Rupert Grint, the Harry Potter actor who reached 1 million Instagram followers in 4 hours.

Countries that have vaccinated over 50% of their population against Covid-19 with at least one dose are UAE (76%), Canada (69%), Chile (69%), the UK (68%), Singapore (68%), Bahrain (66%), Belgium (66%), and Qatar (65%). Other countries include Netherlands, Israel, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Austria, France, and Saudi Arabia.

According to The Associated Press, heavy flooding in Belgium, Germany and another part of Northwest Europe has left more than 160 people dead. Rainfall started at the start of the weekend and by Saturday most of the missing people has been taken into account. The flooding could continue for few more days, amidst this rescue and recovery efforts are continuing.

US-based expert Liz Derr, Simularity Inc. CEO, provided satellite data imagery and said, "Chinese ships have dumped human waste and wastewater for years in a disputed area of South China Sea, damaging coral reefs.” Derr further mentioned the dumping caused algae in a cluster of reefs in the Spratly Islands (midway between Vietnam and the Phillipines) which "is so intense that you can see it from space."
