Argentina wins Copa America 2021 finals with 1-0, against Brazil

On Sunday morning (Indian Time), Lionel Messi, captain of the Argentina football team won his very first international trophy in Copa America 2021. Argentina won to Brazil at 1-0 making Argentina the winner for the 15th time in the Copa America. The lone goal in the final was scored by Ángel Di María in the 22nd minute. 

India Out campaign

Last year, the ‘India Out’ campaign started as an on-ground protest in the Maldives, later extensively spread across social media platforms using the phrase with a related hashtag. “We are just protesting military presence in the country. We are not calling against India or Indians in the Maldives. We condemn such violent campaigns,” Shifxan Ahmed, co. Founder Dhiyares and an active participant of the protest told the Indian Express. Dr. Gulbin Sultana, a research analyst said that India has to work on perception management in the Maldives and they need to earn the good will of the people.

A spokesperson from Microsoft said that the company is giving a pandemic bonus accounted as $1500 to its employees worldwide. It will be provided to all the staff below the corporate vice president level, who started on or before March 31. 

India – borne Sirisha Bandla, to fly on Virgin Galactic

Sirisha Bandla born in Andhra Pradesh, India will become the second and the only India-born female astronaut to travel to space on July 11. She graduated from Purdue University in Aeronautical Engineering. She will be flying with billionaire Branson on Virgin Galactic, the first fully crewed spaceflight powered test flight.  

US troops withdrawing from Afghanistan

The American troops are expected to fully withdraw from Afghanistan by the end of August as expected by the White House. The US has officially handed over seven facilities to the Afghan Ministry of Defence and evacuated nearly 1000C-17 air freight loads of equipment from the country, US Central Command said that 90 percent withdrawal is complete.
