In India the music scene has been on an uprise lately, offering a lot of exciting opportunities for people of all ages. Indian cities are turning into their own versions of a hotbed of rock music, which comes along with the growing passion for rhythm and beats and headbanging as well, and with people investing in their time and money in listening, supporting and producing music.
A lot of music enthusiasts have come up with various different theories to explain the popularity of rock music in metropolitan cities. Some connect this to the already existing presence of the Anglo-Indian community in cities like Goa, Mumbai, Bengaluru etc., which has played a major role in bringing western genres into the Indian music scene.

In the city of Bengaluru, there are nightclubs like the B-Flat, the Indigo Night Live, and the Opus that hold night gigs or open mic gigs which provides an ideal opportunity for start-up bands to showcase their music and help them to grow further into getting bigger gigs in the future. Today’s musicians are open to explore and adapt different fusions and styles of music and instruments. Things like music programmes, live performances, open night gigs have been gaining more popularity as people have been looking forward to places and environments that fully support and promote musical activities.
Online music sharing platforms have recently become the best platform for emerging artists to showcase their music freely. The rise of social media has triggered a lot of positive response and immediate reaction and sharing of music through these platforms and it has been really beneficial for small creators/artists.
Music as an art form needs to be openly explored and experimented with. To gain a holistic approach to it, musicians have dived head-on to explore the waters with various different instruments and other ways of music production. This muse has also affected the attitude of the listeners, eventually changing their perspective towards the art.
